| DE GROOT, JAN (JOHN): The Lord in His Wisdom called home Jan (John) De Groot of Smithville on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville. Beloved husband of Susan De Groot (nee Roorda). Loving father of Evelyn and Jeff Duck and of Harry De Groot. Cherished Opa of Melissa, Amanda, Sarah, Caitlyn, and Mikayla. John will also be missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law Corrie and Tony Dykzhoorn and Alice and Aurthor vander Beek. Predeceased by his parents Arie (1987) and Elizabeth (1977). The funeral service was led by Rev. Fluit on Monday, May 9, 2005 at 11 am at the Smithville Christian Reformed Church, 6522 Smithville Road. Interment Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Brad Fuller, Joe Mous, Martin Bruinsma, Harmen Bruinsma, Fred Doppelhofer and Ed Heczko. Memorial contributions to Covenant Christian School or the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family. |
