VAN EGMOND, ANN (nee De Boer): Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. After a brief courageous battle with cancer, peacefully and surrounded by the love of her family at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby on Tuesday, June 14, 2005, Ann Van Egmond of St. Anns passed away to be with her Lord and Saviour three days before her 67th birthday. Beloved wife of Les for 45 years. Much loved mother and Oma of Annette and Richard Zwaagstra, Amanda and Derek, Tanya and Travis, Vanessa, Michael and Kyle; Jerry and Ruth Van Egmond, Shane, Cody and Cassandra; Harry and Debbie Van Egmond, Amber, Brooke and Austin; Les and Sheryl Van Egmond, Eric, Jason and Curtis; Gordon and Esther Van Egmond, Jodi, Justin and Rachel; Peter and Kim Van Egmond, Karissa, Devon and Blake. She will also be sadly missed by her brother and sisters Theresa Reitsma, Linda and Pete Oosterhoff, John and Joanne De Boer, Gertie Vanderheiden, Konnie and Ann De Boer, Diane De Boer, Mary De Boer, Gerry and Nellie De Boer, Betty and Simon Breukelman, Alice and Peter Lof, and the entire Van Egmond family. Ann was predeceased by her mother Loltje De Boer (1973), father Jitze De Boer (1978), sister Trijnte De Boer (1926), brother Melle De Boer (1983), brother-in-law Thomas Reitsma (1996), brother-in-law Nick Vanderheiden (2004) and her special friend and fondly loved mother-in-law Oma (Anna) Van Egmond (2005). The funeral service was led by Rev. A. Souman at the Smithville Canadian Reformed Church on Friday, June 17, 2005 at 11 am with a private interment prior to the service at St. Anns Cemetery. Peter Ravensbergen was the organist. Her son, Jerry, spoke of remembrances. Daughter Annette was the flower bear. Sons Harry, Leslie, Gordon and Peter, grandson Shane and son-in-law Richard were the pallbearers. Thanks to Dr. Davidson, Dr. Mah, Dr. Colterjohn, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and the Nurses on Wards B and C, the West Niagara Palliative Care Team and McMaster University Medical Centre. Memorial contributions to John Calvin School Building Fund or Ancho Home would be appreciated by the family.
