BALLANTYNE, LETA AGNES (nee Packham): Peacefully, at Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre (formerly of Caistorville), on Monday, September 14, 2015, at the age of 88, Leta left this earth to join the love of her life, Alfred (March 2012). She will be deeply missed by her children Bob (Joan), Joanne (Gord Baguley), Neil (Corinne) and Terry (Sandra). Her 10 grandchildren, Tim (Julie), Cherie (Rob), Megan (Mike), Jonathan, Neil, Elizabeth (Wayne), Daryl (Patricia), Steven (Anne), Tyler (Kasia), Ashley and 13 great grandchildren will keep grandma tucked in a special place in their hearts. Predeceased by her five brothers and sisters, and granddaughter, Amber (1986), she was a dear sister-in-law to Norman and Shirley Ballantyne, Gladys Krick, Mabel (August 2015) and Des Pearce and Ina and Ed Dodson. The kindness and compassion she received from staff at Ridgeview, and previously at Lookout Ridge, will always be remembered fondly and gratefully. Visitation for Leta will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station St., Smithville. Service of remembrance on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Smithville United Church, 116 West St. (Regional Rd. 20), Smithville. Private interment will precede the service. Donations to the Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Her light will shine on in our memories.
